Valentine's Day is almost here and we’ve definitely caught the love bug.
Traditionally celebrated on the 14th February, its origins go way back to Roman times, where Christians celebrated it as a religious day of feasting. Named in honour of St Valentine, the patron saint of lovers, today this popular date is celebrated as a sign of love all over the world.
Why not tell someone you love them with this super sweet and simple Valentine's inspired card - the perfect activity for a spot of crafting with your littlest loves.
Valentine's Day Card Craft
You Will Need:
- A4 White or Red Card
- Pencil
- Tissue paper in pink, red and white
- Scissors
- Glue
Ready, Get Set, Craft:
- Take a piece of A4 card and fold it in half like so:
- Take a pencil and draw a large heart shape outline on the front of the card using a pencil.
- Take your tissue paper and start tearing off pieces, scrunching it into small balls as you go. Repeat this for all the colours of tissue you would like to use. Stick to red, pink and white for a more traditional Valentine inspired theme.
- Take the glue and start to stick the pieces of scrunched up tissue on the heart outline until it is completely full and you have a lovely heart shape design, like this:
Tip: You could use a single colour or mix it up and use a few, for a super effective look.
- Leave your creation to fully dry.
- Don’t forget to write a little message or love note to the lucky recipient!
